National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorders Grant Project

2013- 2014
The National Professional Development Center is a multi-university center to promote the use of evidence-based practices for children and adolescents with ASD.
Training teams from the LAUNCH site and SELPA level participated in a five-day intensive training located at the M.I.N.D. Institute at UC Davis in June, 2010 in order to:
1)  Increase their knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP);
2)  Identify elements of high quality programs;
3)  Build networking, collaboration and skills of members of state autism training teams and;
4)  Develop plans for model sites and for dissemination across states.
The primary goals of this training was to:
1)  Assist trainees in establishing a system to implementing evidence-based practice (EBP),
2)  Collect follow-up data on use of evidence-based practices, practitioner skills, and child and family outcomes.
Staff participated in best practice assessment that will include the following:
1)  Autism Program Environmental Rating Scale (APERS).
2)  Goal Attainment Scale.
3)  Feedback identifying areas of strength and program improvement
4)  Implementation plan.
5)  Technical Assistance.
6)  Site visits.
